50 Books Challenge 2011 Update - April

April was a good reading month. I read seven books! For me that's a lot. And I read some really good ones too. Here's an update.

# 18. Watership Down by Richard Adams
# 19. Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
# 20. Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie
# 21. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares
# 22. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
# 23. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling
# 24. The Nanny Diaries by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus

Favorite of the month: "Watership Down"

I started "Ape House" today by Sara Gruen. She also wrote "Water for Elephant" one of my absolute favorites. You will see a review of that book as soon as I finish it. I have some other books I need to read, but for now it's just this one. I'll keep you updated and to all the booklovers: Happy reading!

Pic Spam: Chris Evans

I'm really looking forward to "Captain America: The First Avenger". Not because I'm such a fan of superhero movies. No... I just want to see Chris Evans in a superhero role. Mostly he's not the leading man, but just a supporting actor. Sometimes the love interest. I actually loved him "Cellular", a very exciting movie which also starred Kim Basinger. And he was really funny in "Fantastic Four", althought the movie itself sucked. I just like looking at Chris Evans and that's why I went searching for his best pics. Here they are.

50 Books Challenge - # 24: The Nanny Diaries by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus

Title: The Nanny Diaries
Author: Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus
Story: Who wouldn't want this job? Struggling to graduate from NYU and afford her microscopic studio apartment, Nanny takes a position caring for the only son of the wealthy X family. She rapidly learns the insane amount of juggling involved to ensure that a Park Avenue wife who doesn't work, cook, clean, or raise her own child has a smooth day. When the Xs marriage begins to disintegrate, Nanny ends up involved way beyond the bounds of human decency or good taste. Her tenure with the X family becomes a nearly impossible mission to maintain the mental health of their four-year-old, her own integrity and, most importantly, her sense of humor. Over nine tense months, Mrs. X and Nanny perform the age-old dance of decorum and power as they test the limits of modern-day servitude.
Start: april 27th 2011
End: april 29th 2011
Comment: I work with children, but I never see this side of the kids' life. The life they have at home. That's what a nanny sees. This book is about a girl named Nanny, who becomes a nanny for a wealthy New York family. The book has a nice flow to it. It was easy to read and I finished it in only two days. It caused some laughs and I also felt sad sometimes. Mostly for Grayer and Nanny. Nanny was bossed around by Mrs. X and she was putting up with it only because she loved the boy so much. That's why I liked Nanny. She is so passionate about her job and about caring for Grayer. I felt sorry for Grayer, a little boy that just needed some attention. His parents didn't give him that. That's what bothered me a bit. The X's are certainly rich and NOT raising their son, but it's almost like wealthy family equals dysfunctional family. But it's a book and I should probably not take that part all too serious. Everytime Mrs. X gave out an order I was like: Oh no she didn't! In it's total this book is a lot fun to read and I couldn't put it down.

Best of... Arnold Schwarzenegger

Now he's the gouvenor of California, but he used to be a succesful Hollywood actor. Not one of the best, but he certainly made some fun movies and I think he one of the most beloved action heroes. Here are my favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger films.

"The Terminator"
I think this was his big break. In the first Terminator movie, he was a bad guy and he was after Sarah Connor. Complex plot, but super original.

"Commando"
A great 80's action flick! It's not one of his best, but surely worth watching. If you like action, you like this.

"Predator"
How awesome is this! "Predator" is so creepy and Arnold was so cool. When I saw it for the first time I seriously thought he was the most amazing soldier ever.

"The Running Man"
An 80's film but way ahead of its time. This movie is a parody of today's reality TV shows. And Arnold proves that he doesn't only have muscles, he can actually act.

"Total Recall"
This is an intelligent and complex science fiction thriller with all sorts of strange things going on. The futuristic cabdrivers called Johnny Cab and the alien stripper with three boobs. Classic!

"Kindergarten Cop"
I always found this quite enjoyable. Arnie goes undercover as a kindergarten teacher. It's just a lot of fun, a no brainer.

"Terminator 2: Judgement Day"
His best movie and also one of the best movies ever made. Normally sequels can't live up to the first one, but in this series the second is the best. It's an absolute must-see classic.

"Last Action Hero"
This movie isn't supposed to be taken seriously, because it's sort of a parody on action movies in general. That what I like about it. I can watch this movie over and over again.

"True Lies"
Arnie is like an American James Bond. And everything is over the top, which makes it so funny. He works so well together with Jamie Lee Curtis, awesome duo.

"Jingle All the Way"
It's on TV every Christmas. I know almost everyone hates this movie, but I secretly like it. Well, now it's not a secret anymore is it.

"End of Days"
I remember seeing it in the cinema. I liked Arnie's character Jericho, a depressed and drunk man who didn't really understand the meaning of life anymore. It was a different side of him. The movie was very up to date, right before 2000 would start. Great special effects as well.

"The Sixth Day"
Good action, neat visuals and a pretty good plot. Nice movie about clones, I think a must for Schwarzenegger fans.

He also made some really bad ones, I'm not going to mention them. I heard today that he's going to be in the fifth installment of Terminator, which is awesome! And he's also rumored to be in a movie called "The Last Stand".

Good Times Together

"The Office US" is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. I'm actually expecting to get the season 5 and 6 DVD's today. I decided to create a new wallpaper of the show, of my two favorite characters: Jim and Pam. Or actually the actors that play them. Here's my wallpaper of John Krasinski and Jenna Fisher.

Feel free to use it on your own computer.

50 Books Challenge - # 23: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

Title: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Author: J.K. Rowling
Story: Harry Potter is on summer break after completing his first year at the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, and his aunt, uncle, and cousin are as mean as ever. Their efforts to prevent his return to Hogwarts are aided by an unknown force: a mysterious elf who shows up and warns Harry that he must never return to the school. Harry is eventually rescued by his classmates and friends, the Weasleys, but getting back to Hogwarts still proves to be a challenge. When he finally does get there, his troubles quickly multiply. Someone has opened the door to the Chamber of Secrets, releasing a deadly monster with the power to kill. Harry is forced to once again confront his archenemy, the Dark Wizard Voldemort, who has a whole new bag of nasty tricks up his sleeve.
Start: april 24th 2011
End: april 26th 2011
Comment: I love J.K. Rowling's imagination. She entertains a large audience with it. I am not the targeted audience Rowling is writing her books for, but I think we adults are enjoying it even more. We can step into a world of pure imagination and feel like a kid again. That's the power of these books. But that makes it extra intense for the children it is actually written for. The part where Harry enters the secret chamber is extremely frightening for a younger group of people. I certainly think the ending was much more interesting than the first one, but it's equally good. I wished Hermoine had a bigger role in this story but I'm glad we could read so much about Ron, who's my favorite. I'm already looking forward to reading all the other books in this series again.

Best Stalker Movies

I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with movies, but I love watching them. Well here are some movies about people with a certain obsession. Here are my favorite movies about stalkers.

"Notes on a Scandel"
Judi Dench plays Barbara Covett, a veteran high school teacher who becomes obsessed with a new teacher, played by Cate Blanchett, who has an affair with one of her students. She befriends her, but Barbara’s idea of friendship will go well beyond platonic. It’s not a spectacular movie, but it sure left a good impression on me.

"One Hour Photo"
Robin Williams is Seymour Parrish, an employee of a one-hour photo lab. He becomes obsessed with a family who’s pictures he developes. Williams like we’ve never seen him before.

"The Fan"
All star baseball player Bobby Rayburn becomes the unhealthy focus of Gil Renard. Wesley Snipes and Robert De Niro are the leads. De Niro shows us why he’s one of the best around.

"Fear"
Reese Witherspoon plays Nicole Walker, who falls for the charms of David McCall, portrayed by Mark Wahlberg. But he’s not as nice as she thinks. It’s very predictable, but good entertainment.

"Fatal Attraction"
After she had a one night stand with a married man, Alex Forrest forms an obsession for the man an his family. One of the best on the list and Glenn Close is a believable maniac.

"Kiss the Girls"
A man who calls himself Casanova, stalks women, abducts them and then takes them to a place where he rapes them and uses them as slaves. Creepy... but such a good movie. Morgan Freeman is awesome as Alex Cross and I just loved Ashley Judd.

"Swimfan"
Swimmer Ben Cronin makes a huge mistake by having a one-night stand with Madison Bell. She can’t let him go and makes his life a living hell. Erika Christensen steals the show here. It was a totally surprising film, I didn’t think it would be this good.

"The Hand That Rocks the Cradle"
Peyton Flanders, the perfect nanny. Think again. She’s about to ruin the lives of the Bartell family. Rebecca DeMornay is pretty good in this film.

"Cape Fear"
The convicted rapist Max Cady starts stalking the family of the lawyer that originally defended him. Again a solid performance by De Niro.

"The Hitcher"
Jim is stalked by a serial killer while being on the road traveling across the country. The original is off course better than its remake. And the creepy hitcher is portrayed by our country's very own pride Rutger Hauer!

"Taxi Driver"
Travis Bickle is an ex-Marine and Vietnam War veteran living in New York City. As he suffers from insomnia, he spends his time working as a cabbie at night. Travis becomes obsessed with Betsy and he tries to help out a 12-year old prostitute. De Niro sure knows how to portray a stalker. One of the best movies ever made and also one of his best performances.

"The Cable Guy"
A lonely and disturbed cable guy raised on television just wants a new friend, but his target, a designer, rejects him, with bad consequences. Stalker movies can also be hilarious, you just have to let Jim Carrey play the lead.

"The Crush"
Journalist Nick Elliot becomes the unwanted center of attention for a 14-year old girl whom proceeds to sabotage his life after he refuses her sexual advances. Awesome movie, well done by young Alicia Silverstone.

50 Books Challenge - # 22: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

Title: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Author: Douglas Adams
Story: Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher for the revised edition of the The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy who, for the last fifteen years, has been posing as an out of work actor. Together this dynamic pair begin their journey through space aided by quotes from The Hitchhiker's Guide. Start: april 21st 2011
End: april 23rd 2011
Comment: Science Fiction is normaly not my go-to genre, but I like to be open minded and read books I would normaly never pick. And I'm glad I did, because "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" was worth reading. My problem with Sci-fi sometimes is that the writer bores you with explaining how certain things work. Adams doesn't bore you for one second. He combines the knowledge and wit to make it more interesting. And he's so convincing in it. Arthur and Marvin were my favorite characters in the book. Especially Arthur and his ways of dealing with the crisis. This book is so funny and wacky and very clever written. The good thing about this book is that I think especialy the people who would normaly never pick sci-fi books will love it. I will continue reading the rest of the books. And if you're a fan of dry British wit, you will like it as well.

Pic Spam: Emily Blunt

I've told you many times how much I adore Emily Blunt. As an actress and as a person. She is just awesome. I loved her in "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Sunshine Cleaning". I would really want to see "The Adjustment Bureau" and "The Young Victoria". Here are some of her best pictures.

50 Books Challenge - # 21: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares

Title: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Author: Ann Brashares
Story: A pair of jeans purchased at a thrift store is the unlikely bond that keeps four best friends emotionally connected during the first summer that they spend physically apart. Carmen doesn't think much of the pants she buys for $3.49, until she and her pals discover their magical quality. The jeans which fit each girl perfectly despite their very different body types serve as a surrogate friend for Tibby, Carmen, Lena and Bridget as they wrestle with new issues of first love, jealousy, fear and sadness in the months before their junior year of high school. Each girl has a turn with the pants, then sends them on to the next person in the rotation; by summer's end, when the friends are reunited, the jeans will be the symbol of what the girls have experienced
Start: april 18th 2011
End: april 20th 2011
Comment: I'm in my late twenties, but I really wanted to finally read this series. I always love books (and movies) with multiple storylines. Here it's about four girlfriends who are so very different from each other. Ann Brashares created such loveable characters, that it's impossible to choose your favorite. Each one of them had good qualities and characteristics that you recognize from yourself or your own friends. I liked Carmen because she's such a warm and caring person. I liked Bridget free spirit. I liked Tibby's honesty. I liked Lena's creativity and that she didn't care much for the fact that everybody says she so beautiful. The stories are all either heartwarming, funny, touching or sweet. I think Bridgets story was my favorite and if I had to pick one character it would be her. Carmen is a good second. I will definitely continue reading the rest of the series. These are perfect for the summer.

50 Books Challenge - # 20: Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie

Title: Welcome to Temptation
Author: Jennifer Crusie
Story: When Sophie Dempsey and her sister Amy head to the small town of Temptation, Ohio, to shoot a video with their friend Clea Whipple, Sophie has a premonition of disaster. It's a premonition that grows when Sophie and Amy literally collide with the town's most righteous and outspoken politician before they even get into town. But this car accident is just the beginning of Sophie's troubles. When a rumor circulates through Temptation that the women are shooting a porn video, it prompts visits from several townsfolk, including Temptation's very sexy mayor, Phineas Tucker.
Start: april 14th 2011
End: april 17th 2011
Comment: When reading the synopsis, I thought this was going to be just another standard chick-lit. Well, think again. Crusie doesn't only write witty one-liners, she writes fully realized scenes. And there are some surprising twists to the story, like a murder. You would normally never read about that in a standard chick-lit. I didn't like Sophie in the beginning and I kinda dispised Phin at first. I came to like 'em as the story developed. Especially Sophie. She's not one of those women who's all about the glits and the glams. Amy's character was some what one-dimensional. You don't really get to know her very well. I liked Dillie the most, she's such a sweet and kind kid and so honest. Crusie's writing style is very mature, especially because of the amount of sex in it. And it's about as explicit as you can get. I'm not a prude, but I like it more when the writer doesn't describe it as detailed as Crusie did. It's a fun summer/ spring read. I read that this is the first in a series and I will probably continue reading the rest of it. Maybe we get to know Amy a little better.

Best of... Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore. She's not one of my top 10 favorites, but I always enjoy her movies. I think it's because she doesn't really care what other people say. She had a tough childhood, but got over it and made some great films. Here are some of my favorite Drew Barrymore movies.

"E.T. : The Extra Terrestrial"
This is one of the very few movies that always makes me cry. And don't you just love Drew as the little Gertie?

"Scream"
I think this is still the best "Scream" movie (although I haven't seen the fourth installment yet). Drew is in the opening scene and I think also the most memorable one. Awesome!

"The Wedding Singer"
I luv this movie! I remember seeing it for the first time and loving it. It's one of those movies I'll always watch when it's on, even though I also own it on DVD. Drew and Adam make a great couple.

"EverAfter"
I'm a sucker for romantic fairytale-like stories. Drew is just adorable and irresistable in this film. She was the reason that I watched it and I kinda loved it.

"Never Been Kissed"
I love her clumbsiness here. It's not one of her best, but certainly very funny and enjoyable.

"Donnie Darko"
A cult classic. The first time I saw it, it kinda confused me a bit. But after seeing it for the second time I knew how great this film was. "Donnie Darko" is one of the best movies ever.

"50 First Dates"
The reason I like this one is mostly because Adam and Drew teaming up again. It's not as good as "The Wedding Singer" but I liked it.

"He's Just Not That Into You"
I felt sorry for Drew's character Mary. She so deserves love and it just doesn't work for her. It's a fun film, just fun.

You're probably wondering why "Charlie's Angels" isn't on it. I'm just not a fan, although Drew's character Dylan was my favorite of the three angels. I'm really dying to see "Whip It". And her 2012 upcoming movie "Everybody Loves Whales" sounds awesome too. It also starts John Krasinski, whom I absolutely adore.

50 Books Challenge - # 19: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer

Title: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
Author: Jonathan Safran Foer
Story: Meet Oskar Schell, an inventor, Francophile, tambourine player, Shakespearean actor, jeweler, and pacifist. He is nine years old. And he is on an urgent, secret search through the five boroughs of New York. His mission is to find the lock that fits a mysterious key belonging to his father, who died in the World Trade Center on 9/11.
Start: april 10th 2011
End: april 13th 2011
Comment: Oskar misses his father and wants to know everything about his life. He wants to understand him. His mom doesn't really care much for that, she doesn't help him. He's a 9 year old boy trying to understand the world and his father. Why he died and how it happened. Oskar is a very brave and intelligent boy. It's almost like you're not reading a story about a kid, but an adult, but when his imagination starts working again you realize that he's a child. I think Foer did a brilliant job writing this book from Oskar's point of view. He writes it down exactly the way a kid would say it. Thinking out loud. I really want to read "Everything is Illuminated", because he got me enthusiastic. Foer is a good writer, I really liked this book. It was extremely well written and incredibly touching !

Pic Spam: Mark Ruffalo

I don't know why I like this guy so much, but I think it's because Mark Ruffalo is so freakin' charming! I loved him in "Shutter Island", "Reservation Road", "Zodiac" and "Just Like Heaven" (he was actually the only reason I watched that last one). I really would love to see "The Kids Are Alright", because it seems awesome. Here are some of the best pics of Mark.

50 Books Challenge - # 18: Watership Down by Richard Adams

Title: Watership Down
Author: Richard Adams
Story: Fleeing the intrusion of man and the certain destruction of their ancestral home, a band of rabbits encounters harrowing trials posed by predators and hostile warrens — driven only by their vision to create a perfect society in a mysterious promised land known to them as Watership Down.
Start: april 3rd 2011
End: april 9th 2011
Comment: I remember reading it for English class in High School and I wanted to reread this book for quite some time now. I finally got to it. I loved reading this book, because we see everything through the eyes of the rabbits. The characters in "Watership Down" are loveable, also human-like, although you respect the rabbits more than the humans. This is not just a book about rabbits. It's about friendship, enemies, leadership, bravery and pride. I think we adults can learn so much from them. It's such a beautiful book, that I can hardly put it in to words. I simply love it.

Something new from Steve, Ryan, Will, Tom, Julia, Reese, Owen and Rachel

I always like to check the newest movie trailer, to see what is coming in the theatres soon. I've seen some great new ones this week. Here are my favorites:

"Crazy, Stupid, Love" (with Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Marisa Tomei and Kevin Bacon)
Steve Carell plays a man who's dealing with a marital crisis. He meets Ryan Goslings character, who is a ladiesman. Steve Carell is just great, he's so endeering. And Ryan Gosling.... oooh. Fantastic, underrated actor and extremely handsome!

"Everything Must Go" (with Will Ferrell, Rebecca Hall and Laura Dern)
After he lost his wife and job, Nick Halsey holds a yardsale in order to start over. A new neighbour might be the key to his return to form. I think Will Ferrell is hilarious and this seems like a mix of comedy and light drama. I really like those kind of films.

"Larry Crowne" (Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts)
After losing his job, the middle aged Larry Crowne reinvents himself by going back to college. I look forward to anything with Tom Hanks in it, he can hardly do anything wrong. Julia Roberts will make a great leading lady.

"Water for Elephants" (Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz)
After his parents die, Jacob joins a traveling circus. He takes care of Rosie, the elphant and falls for the beautiful Marlene who's the wife of brute August. I think all three actors where cast perfectly, especially Waltz. I actually pictures him while reading the book (which I loved!).

"Midnight in Paris" (Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, Adrien Brody and Kathy Bates)
It's a romantic comedy that follows a family traveling to the city for business. The party includes a young engaged couple that has their lives transformed throughout the journey. I love Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams and they reunite in this film (they starred together in "Wedding Crashers"). And I love the poster!

Some great movies, I can't say which one I'm looking forward to the most. It's just fun to see movies with some of my favorites in it.

Best of... Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey is definitely one of the funniest men ever. He has a great sense of humor and he's also physically really hilarious. He actually makes my mom nervous, but he can actually make my mood better. A Jim Carrey movie is the perfect medicine for when you're having a bad day. Here are my favorites.

"Ace Ventura: Pet Detective"
Not only his funniest movie, also the most funny character he's ever played. Ace is so idiotic, but so cool. Don't you love that scene with the sliding door, where he's trying to proof that nobody could've heard the scream? I'm rolling on the ground (literally). And the scene where he's pretending to be 'crazy', when he's wearing a tutu.

"The Mask"
I think this was the first Jim Carrey movie I ever saw. I always liked this film, especially when the mask starts dancing. Funny movie.

"Dumb and Dumber"
Those guys are so dumb, that you love 'em for it. They are ignorant, naive and clueless all together. His name alone makes you wanna laugh out loud (Lloyd Christmas, come one!)

"The Cable Guy"
Carrey steals the show here. He plays a wacky cable guy, who wants to befriend Matthew Broderick, but he's a little bit obsessive. I think the scene during the medeavel dinner is the funniest.

"Liar, Liar"
The plot doesn't seem all that funny, but you can leave it to Jim Carrey. I don't think I could keep a straight face while working with him. I actually haven't seen this movie in a while, but I rememebr liking it very much. It's hilarious.

"The Truman Show"
Carrey proved here that he can also be serious. And you actually take him seriously. His performance is almost brilliant and I think this is his best movie and role. Even though the theme is a little weird, that doesn't bother you because it's such a believable film.

"How the Grinch Stole Christmas"
Just a fun christmas movie. Nothing special, I just enjoyed it very much. And Jim is good as an evil christmas hater.

"Man on the Moon"
Again he showed a different side of himself. He played comedian Andy Kaufman, but this movie gets dramatic. Also a fantastic performance by Carrey.

"Bruce Almighty"
Jim Carrey gets the chance to play God? It's such a great comedy. And I love him together with Jennifer Aniston.

"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"
If you think you know Jim Carrey, think again. He pulls of a great performance. Many say his best. Great film!

"Lemony Snicket's A series of Unfortunate Events"
I like the story and the absurd idea behind it. Jim Carrey as Count Olaf, amazing. The movie has great sphere and I liked it very much.

"Fun with Dick and Jane"
How great is this one? I was surprised by Tea Leoni's comedic performance. I didn't know she could be so funny. Great combo with Carrey.

"Yes Man"
I couldn't stop laughing when I saw him in his Harry Potter outfit, with the short tie. OMG, even thinking about it makes me wanna scream. This is one of the most recent ones I saw of him.

I've never seen "The Majestic". A lot of people say that this is one of his best movies. I also didn't see "I Love you Philip Morris". Jim Carrey is a man you either love or hate. I'm a sucker for his humor!

50 Books Challenge - # 17: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell

Title: Cloud Atlas
Author: David Mitchell
Story: A reluctant voyager crossing the Pacific in 1850; a disinherited composer blagging a precarious livelihood in between-the-wars Belgium; a high-minded journalist in Governor Reagan’s California; a vanity publisher fleeing his gangland creditors; a genetically modified “dinery server” on death-row; and Zachry, a young Pacific Islander witnessing the nightfall of science and civilisation -- the narrators of Cloud Atlas hear each other’s echoes down the corridor of history, and their destinies are changed in ways great and small.
Start: march 26th 2011
End: april 2nd 2011
Comment: When I read the back of this novel, I was very curious about it. I really didn't know what to expect. Six different stories are told and five of them are interrupted half way through. At first you think it are just six stories, but soon enough you'll find out there's more to it. The individual stories have connections with the other stories, which makes it one piece. The great thing about this book is that David Mitchell managed to use six different writing styles. Each story has his own unique style, like a journal, letters and an interview. And they are all set centuries apart. I never read anything like this before. The stories about Adam Ewing, Luisa Rey and Robert Frobisher were my favorites and the story of Zach'ry didn't really interest me much. I don't know why, it was a confusing story. That's probably just me. It took me a while to finish it, because it such good literature. It's not easy to read. Mitchell is a very gifted writer and I'm really looking forward to reading more of his work.

Pic Spam: Jennifer Garner

Lovely Jennifer Garner. She's just such a sweet woman and I enjoy her in her films. And she is a natural beauty. Wasn't she just adorable in "13 Going On 30" and she made "Valentine's Day" worth watching. And she was great in "Juno" and "The Kingdom". Here are some pictures of Jennifer Garner.

50 Books Challenge 2011 Update - March

I read very slow this month. But I did (almost) finished 6 books. Here's another update on my 50 Books Challenge.

# 12. My Summer of Love by Helen Cross
# 13. Mixed Doubles by Jill Mansell
# 14. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling
# 15. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
# 16. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
# 17. Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell

Favorite of the month: "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"

I haven't finished "Cloud Atlas" yet, but I will probably finish it tomorrow. I added it to the list because I started reading it in March.
I still have some books to read. Next will probably be "Watership Down" by Richard Adams. I once read it for English class, when I was still in high school. I wanted to reread it for a while and I finally got a hold of it at the library. Check out my blog soon for updates on my challenge.
