50 Books Challenge 2013 Update - August
Only three books this month, I blame work. I started at a new workplace and there were a lot of new impressions. I tried to read a little bit every day, but I was jut very tired.
# 29. The Hive by Gill Hornby - 3,5/ 5
# 30. Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling - 2/ 5
# 31. City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare (The Mortal Instruments # 4)- 4/ 5
Average: 3,2
Favorite of the month: City of Fallen Agels
I really have to read four books this month, because the theme I choose is a series of four books.
I recently rewatched "The Silence of the Lambs", so that's how I got this idea.

Top 5 Thursday: Movies from 1984
I found someone doing lists like this online and I thought of doing it too. I decided to start with my year of birth, 1984. The best movies from that year in a top 5.
5. The Neverending Story
This movie was a big thing for me when I was a kid. These days children wouldn’t appreciate it as much, but I still do. And that wolf, Gmork, freaks me out!
4. Ghostbuster
How can I not include “Ghostbusters”? Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are great together and the stars of this movie. I haven’t seen it in a while though.
3. The Terminator
Although the second one is the best in the series, this is very cool as well. I think this put Arnie on the map.
2. Gremlins
“Gremlins” is one of those movies I can watch over and over again. Gizmo is the cutest movie character ever and I think this film is timeless. It’s fun and scary at the same time.
1. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
I love the entire franchise, okay maybe I want to forget about the last one, but it brought my favourite male character in movies.
They Almost Made the Top 5: Nightmare on Elm Street, Bachelor Party, Beverly Hills Cop

50 Books Challenge 2013 - # 31: City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare (The Mortal Instrumens # 4)
Title: City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments # 4)
Author: Cassandra Clare
Story: The Mortal War is over, and sixteen-year-old Clary Fray is back home in New York, excited about all the possibilities before her. She's training to become a Shadowhunter and to use her unique power. Her mother is getting married to the love of her life. Downworlders and Shadowhunters are at peace at last. And - most importantly of all - she can finally call Jace her boyfriend. But nothing comes without a price. Someone is murdering Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle, provoking tensions between Downworlders and Shadowhunters that could lead to a second bloody war. Clary's best friend, Simon, can't help her. His mother just found out that he's a vampire and now he's homeless. Everywhere he turns, someone wants him on their side - along with the power of the curse that's wrecking his life. And they're willing to do anything to get what they want. At the same time he's dating two beautiful, dangerous girls - neither of whom knows about the other one. When Jace begins to pull away from Clary without explaining why, she is forced to delve into the heart of a mystery whose solution reveals her worst nightmare: She herself has set in motion a terrible chain of events that could lead to her losing everything she loves. Even Jace.
Start: august 19th 2013
End: august 28th 2013
Comment: I enjoyed this series so far, so I was ready for "City of Fallen Angels". Reading this proofs that the series is pretty consistent. The world-building has always been something that stood out in "The Mortal Instruments" and the fourth book is no exception. It's really great to read about it and feel like you're actually there. What bothered me is that there was lot of teen relationship angst, especially with Clary and Jace. Jace is actually starting to annoy me a bit. I don't know what it is. So "City of Fallen Angels" is another good read in the series.

Quotables: "Ted"
This is one of the better comedies made in the last years. Just the idea of a foulmouthed, pod smoking teddy bear makes me laugh. And it comes with some funny and memorable quotes. That all with thanks to Seth MacFarlane.
John, Ted: [singing] When you hear the sound of thunder, / Don't you get too scared. / Just grab your thunder buddy / And say these magic words: / "Fuck you, thunder! / You can suck my dick! / You can't get me thunder / 'Cause you're just God's farts!"
John: [calling 911] This guy took my teddy bear!
[pause]
John: Hello? Hello?
Ted: [to fat kid] Back off, Susan Boyle!
Frank: You think you got what it takes?
Ted: I'll tell you what I got. Your wife's pussy on my breath.
Frank: Nobody's ever spoken to me like that before.
Ted: That's because their mouths were full of your wife's box.
Frank: You're hired.
Ted: Shit
Ted: There. Proof. Garfield's eye look like a pair of tits.
Lori: There's a shit on the floor!
Ted: Or, or, or, maybe the floor is on the shit.
Robert: You can't have my Teddy bear!
[Charges John and Lori at full speed. John punches him in the nose, knocking him unconscious to the ground]
Lori: Jesus!
John: I'm sorry, but somebody had to go all Joan Crawford on his ass!
John: Can you call my cellphone?
Lori: Yeah
[Lori calls John's phone which plays "The Imperial March"]
Lori: Is that my ringtone? What is that? Cause it sounds really negative.
John: No. I-it's from The Notebook
Narrator: Now if there's one thing you can be sure of, it's that nothing is more powerful than a young boy's wish. Except an Apache helicopter. An Apache helicopter has machine guns AND missiles. It is an unbelievably impressive complement of weaponry, an absolute death machine.
Ted: Oh, come on! I do not sound that much like Peter Griffin!
Ted: [after a TV falls on John] Why are you crying?
John: My dick was squished by the TV.
Donny: You're mine now, Ted.
Ted: Screw you, pal. I belong to John Bennett.
Donny: I can give you love and rocking horses and dancing.
Ted: I think we're very far apart on this.
Ted: [while being carried inside a bag] Oh, I hear the fat kid running! I bet it's hilarious!

Weekly Photo Challenge 2013 - Theme # 34: Animal
Here is this weeks theme.
This is one of the easiest themes so far. I have made so many pictures of animals. While vacationing in Uganda, visiting zoos, pets. But my favorite animal of the moment is without a doubt my bunny Oscar. He's adorable, sweet and a great companion. I love this photo!

Movie Moments: "The Muppets"
If you don’t like the Muppets, you’re insane! How can you not like them? I just rewatched their latest film and I chose my favorite moments. Oh, and I can't wait to see the new movie that comes out next year!
Moment # 1: Life’s a happy song
Gary is about to leave for Los Angeles with his girlfriend Mary. He tells Walter he's coming too. They, and the whole population of Smalltown breaks into song.
Moment # 2: Walter overhears plan
When Walter visits Kermit’s office in the Muppet studios, he overhears a plan that Tex Richman has for the studios end theater. Walter starts screaming, all the way to the hotel.
Moment # 3: Electrical fence
When Gary, Mary and Walter find Kermit’s house, Walter wants to be thrown over the fence. Mary worries it might be an electrical fence, but Walter says it’s impossible because it’s Kermit the Frog. When Gary throws him over, Walter is electrocuted.
Moment # 4: Kermit the Frog
Kermit arrives and invites them into his home. Walter persuades Kermit into getting the old gang back together to put up a show.
Moment # 5: The Moopets
First they’re trying to find Fozzie Bear, who has his own show in a Reno casino called The Moopets. Which has some Muppets characters, but the ten times worse.
Moment # 6: Montage
Already they found Fozzie, Gonzo and Animal, the rest of the Muppets are in a montage.
Moment # 7: We build this city
Gary, Mary, Walter and all the Muppets fix up the old Muppet theater, while singing “We Build This City”.
Moment # 8: Me party
Mary is sightseeing Los Angeles by herself and she starts singing about it.
Moment # 9: New dance partner
Miss Piggy can’t do her duet with Kermit, because she has a new dance partner: Pepe the Prawn, who is supposed to catch her like in “Dirty Dancing”.
Moment # 10: Man or Muppet
Mary left L.A. with a question for Gary: are you a man or a muppet. Gary and Walter try to find out through a song.
Moment # 11: Barbershop
The Barbershop quartet give Jack Black a haircut while mee-meeing “Smell Like Teen Spirit”.
Moment # 12: Rainbow Connection
Kermit plays the banjo and sings “Rainbow Connection”, with Miss Piggy.
