Title: The Girl Who Played with Fire("Millenium # 2")
Author: Stieg Larsson
Story: Mikael Blomkvist, crusading journalist and publisher of the magazine Millennium, has decided to run a story that will expose an extensive sex trafficking operation between Eastern Europe and Sweden, implicating well-known and highly placed members of Swedish society, business, and government. But he has no idea just how explosive the story will be until, on the eve of publication, the two investigating reporters are murdered. And even more shocking for Blomkvist: the fingerprints found on the murder weapon belong to Lisbeth Salander—the troubled, wise-beyond-her-years genius hacker. As Blomkvist, alone in his belief in Salander’s innocence, plunges into an investigation of the slayings, Salander herself is drawn into a murderous hunt in which she is the prey, and which compels her to revisit her dark past in an effort to settle with it once and for all.

Comment: It's been a while since I read the first book. That one didn't really surprise me. It was good, but I expected more due to its popularity. When I started reading I somehow immediately knew that this was going to be better. This book focuses on Lisbeth more and we got to know more about her past. I found that interesting, because I think she is a fascinating character eventhough she is so complex. Like the first book I also liked Mikael Blomkvist. We see how much he cares about Lisbeth and that he's struggling with the fact that she wants to shut him out of her life. The second installment in the "Millenium"-trilogy deals with a lot of topics: Sex trade, police corruption, authority abuse, homocide. Although that keeps it interesting, it sometimes feels like a bit too much in one book. Like the first book I also think that this book is too big, there are some parts that we could've done without. But all in all it's a good book and better then it's prequel.
