Review: In the last episode of season 3, we see Claire and Jamie together on a beach, in the New World. A new chapter in their lives together, after all those years living apart. In season 4 we continue this, but we skip a step to see Claire and Jamie together with young Ian in America. They don’t have a place to stay yet, but it seems to be going well. They have found each other again, nobody is hurt and they have gems that are worth a lot. However, in this fay and age, America isn’t the perfect world either. Claire knows what’s coming, the Civil War.
We also see Brianna, who is still in her own time. She and Roger try to be together despite her living in Boston and him in Scotland. When they get together to visit a Scottish festival in America, Brianna seems to become more curious about how her mother is doing. When she discovers something terrible is going to happen to Claire and Jamie, she must travel through time to warn them.
In this fourth season, we see two different storylines alongside each other. That of Claire and Jamie and that of Brianna and Roger. Both storylines remain very interesting.
Yet you can see that for each episode we work towards a situation or a problem. In addition to the red thread of the story, each episode creates something that need to be solved. Of course is has to remain exciting, but sometimes it gets a bit too long or too predictable. Nevertheless, the acting is excellent and the show looks amazing. The costumes, the surrounding and the decors are great.
