Review: Nora is overwhelmed by the feeling that she has made wrong choices in her life, disappointing everyone. when she finds herself in the Midnight Library, a place between life and death, she gets the chance to see the many ways her life could have turned out differently. Every book she opens takes her to another life: where she is an Olympic swimming champion, did stay with her ex or actually fulfilled her dream of becoming a glaciologist. In each existence she tries to find her way. And she wanders trough the Midnight Library, she must face the ultimate question: what makes life worth living?
 
“Midnight Library” is an enchanting and heartwarming novel that shows that there are always other possibilities when things are bleak. An ode to life, even when it is flawed.
 
The book goes very deep into the depressive feeling Nora experiences and that can be quite intense. It made me sad at times. Author Matt Haig doesn’t shy away from heavy themes in this book.
 
“The Midnight Library” is a very original story. What makes this book special is the whole concept. Although Haig contains heavy themes, the very will to live it central. This book is actually an ode to life. Haid wants to show you that life is worth living. You feel a lot of empathy for Nora and can only hope that she finds the life she wants to have. Haig’s writing style is also amazing.
 
I loved “The Midnight Library”. I think everyone has ask themselves the question if they did make the right decisions. And if this really is the life they always wanted. I’m know I did an some point in my life.
 
I can only highly recommend this book.
