Soon the relentless rodents aren't merely uprooting the lawn, but also overturning the Langs' entire bourgeois existence, as the man-versus-beast battle leads into an absurd mess of infidelity, extortion, organ donation and other assorted mayhem.

Top 5 Thursday: "Friends" Characters
When I was in High School I was a huge “Friends” fan. My friend and I always bickered about who the funniest, cutest or best character was. This is my opinion.
5. Rachel Green
Rachel is the complete opposite of me, but I really loved her. Although she’s spoiled, sloppy and very vain, I couldn’t dislike her. I even had the Rachel hair for a while.
4. Joey Tribbiani
Joey isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed and that’s what made him funny. He got all the ladies by just asking them how they’re doing. And man could he eat.
3. Chandler Bing
This was my friends favorite, we could never agree. Chandler is definitely the goofiest of the men. And know one knows what he does for a living. Chandler was also pretty clumsy and not a very lucky man either.
2. Monica Geller
I like her because Monica might be an extreme version of myself. All the personality quizzes always point out to her and I hate to admit it, but I’m a bit like Monica. Control freak Monica, neurotic Monica. Yes, that’s me….
1. Ross Geller
To me Ross was the funniest character because he’s so geeky. None of the other friends understand why his job is so incredibly cool. He’s a dinosaur man!! It's hilarious when Ross gets mad. And his geekyness is also adorable.
They almost made the top 5: Phoebe Buffay

50 Books Challenge 2012 - # 46: Morality/ Blockade Billy by Stephen King
Title: Morality/ Blockade Billy
Author: Stephen King
Story: Morality - Chad and Nora Callahan are suffering from financial difficulties brought on by lack of employment and low-paying jobs. While both are seemingly frustrated with the influx of monthly bills and other expenses, they remain largely optimistic about future solutions to solve their money woes. Chad hopes to supplement their income by writing a book based on his experiences as a substitute teacher, while Nora, a nurse, works full-time for a retired reverend named George Winston, who is partially paralyzed and uses a wheelchair after suffering from a stroke. Nora's time spent with Reverend Winston is largely uneventful, until one day Winston propositions Nora with a solution to her monetary problems. Being a reverend, Winston states that he has largely lived his life without sin—though he also states he has not gone completely without it—and seeks to experience one major sin before he passes away.
Blockade Billy - Even the most die-hard baseball fans don't know the true story of William 'Blockade Billy' Blakely. He may have been the greatest player the game has ever seen, but today no one remembers his name. He was the first, and only, player to have his existence completely removed from the record books. Even his team is long forgotten, barely a footnote in the game's history. Every effort was made to erase any evidence that William Blakely played professional baseball, and with good reason. Blockade Billy had a secret darker than any pill or injection that might cause a scandal in sports today. His secret was much, much worse... and only Stephen King, the most gifted storyteller of our age, can reveal the truth to the world, once and for all.
Start: october 23rd 2012
End: october 24rd 2012
Comment: In this Stephen King month I decided to also read something that isn't that well known. At least I never heard of it. It's a book with two short stories. The first one tells the story of a retired reverend who wants to commit a sin. I read this story in just one sitting. Although not a lot of spectacular things happened, I had to keep reading. I just wanted to know what it was Winston wanted Nora to do. Only a master like King can make that happen. I really enjoyed the first story. The second story didn't really grab me as much. It didn't take me long to finish this one either, because it's just a straight forward story. But maybe because I'm not a baseball fan, it didn't grab me as much as the first story. What I liked about this story though was the way it was told. An old time equipment manager recounting the story of William 'Blockade Billy' Blakely to Mr. King himself. This book is definitely not one of my favorites by Stephen King, but I did enjoy it, especially "Morality".

50 Books Challenge 2012 - # 45: Carrie by Stephen King
Title: Carrie
Author: Stephen King
Story: Carrie White may have been unfashionable and unpopular, but she had a gift. Carrie could make things move by concentrating on them. A candle would fall. A door would lock. This was her power and her sin. Then, an act of kindness, as spontaneous as the vicious taunts of her classmates, offered Carrie a chance to be a normal and go to her senior prom. But another act, of ferocious cruelty, turned her gift into a weapon of horror and destruction that her classmates would never forget.
Start: october 16th 2012
End: october 22nd 2012
Comment: "Carrie" was Stephen King's fourth book, but the first one he'd published. Quoting King himself: "Because of Carrie, I could finally afford a real home". And what a fantastic debut novel this is. The book starts with a horrible act of teenage terrorisation. Carrie White got her first period and doesn't know what's happening to her. The girls in the lockerroom, lead by Chris Hargensen, start laughing at her and throwing tampons at her. We soon learn that Carrie is a loner, an outsider and an easy target for mean schoolgirls like Chris. The reason that Carrie didn't know about menstruation is her mother. Margaret White is a Bible thumping nut, who sees a sin in everything. Boys in general, having breasts or hanging your underwear to dry in the yard. The mothers character is very well written and even a bigger nitjob than Mrs. Carmody from "The Mist". Carrie can't help it that she is the way she is. You feel sorry for her. Chris Hargensen is this typical populair high school girl everyone wants to be, but also secretly hate. One of her friends, Sue Snell, is the only one that also feels sorry for Carrie, although she did participate in the incident that happened in the lockerroom. Tommy Ross, Sue's boyfriend, looks at Carrie differently when he gets to know her. When he takes her to the school dance and their are crownd prom king and prom queen, Chris and her boyfriend Billy have something in store for her. From there on the terror really starts, but this time it's coming from Carrie. "Carrie" is, like many other Stephen King books, really hard to put down. Once your in the story, it's hard to let go.

In the Picture: The Characters from "Crazy Stupid Love"
I rewatched this movie recently and I liked it even more after watching it a second time. I also got time to dissect all the characters, so here they are.
Cal Weaver
Played by: Steve Carell
Cal just found out that his wife Emily wants a divorce, because she slept with someone else. After moving in to his own appartement, Cal goes to a bar where he meets Jacob. After this meeting Cal decides to change and to stop sobbing about Emily. Cal is very honest, goodhearted and he will never stop loving Emily.
Jacob Palmer
Played by: Ryan Gosling
Jacob wants Cal to rediscover his manhood. He wants him to change. To be more like him, a womanizer. Jacob is a smooth talker and can get any woman he wants… but Hannah. When he meets Hannah, his view on life changes and he regrets who he used to be.
Emily Weaver
Played by: Julianne Moore
Emily cheated on Cal with a coworker. Emily says that she and Cal had already drifted apart, but when Cal really leaves she realizes how much she loves him. Emily is a very supportive mother and loves Cal deep in her heart.
Hannah Weaver
Played by: Emma Stone
Hannah is a recent law school graduate and is expecting her boyfriend to propose to her. Instead he offers her a job and that’s when Hannah decided it’s time for a change. She goes to meet Jacob in the bar, where she earlier rejected him. Hannah is not like other girls. She’s not afraid to speak her mind and she is out of the ordinary.
Robbie Weaver
Played by: Jonah Bobo
Robbie is the only Weaver boy and madly in love with Jessica, his babysitter. Unlike his dad Cal, he fights for Jessica and will continue until he won her over. For a kid his age Robbie is pretty smart and wise.
Jessica Riley
Played by: Analeigh Tipton
Jessica is the Weavers babysitter. Although Robbie has had a crush on her for a while, Jessica is trying to ignore him. She made clear that she’s not interested in him. Jessica only has eyes for one man: Cal. And now that Emily is out of the way she thinks she stands a chance. Jessica is naïve, but kindhearted.
David Lindhagen
Played by: Kevin Bacon
David is the guy that came between Cal and Emily. He’s a bit of a sleezebag and he’s trying to find his way into the family. Robbie doesn’t really like him, Cal doesn’t and soon no one will.
Kate Tafferty
Played by: Marisa Tomei
Kate and Cal meet each other in the bar and she’s Cal's first girl after Emily. Kate appreciates Cal for his honesty and goes home with him. Cal promises to call her, but he doesn’t and when they meet again it doesn’t end well for Cal. Kate is a very unstable and emotional woman.
