Top 5 Thursday: "The Killers" Hits

"The Killers" new album 'Battle Born' is really awesome. I love this band. They are so unique, one of a kind and they had so many great hits. So I decided to create a top 5 for their best songs, the ones that were hitsingles.

5. Human
Fantastic song, no doubt about it.

4. Read my Mind
Just a really great song. It has such a good atmosphere.

3. When you Were Young
This used to be my favorite. Sadly enough on the Dutch radio they often play the remix version. Don't like this one, but the original is awesome.

2. Miss Atomic Bomb
This is the best song on the new album and this one is also ignored by the Dutch radio. It's such a powerful song that gives me the chills every single time. In a good way.

1. Dustland Fairytale
This song was never a hit in my country and I think that's so sad. When I heard this song for the first time, I was sold. Amazing.

They almost made the top 5: Mr. Brightside, Runaways, All These Things That I've Done, Spaceman

Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas

After seeing Brandon Flowers live this week, I'm even more of a fan then before. So I made a wallpaper, with the titel of one of his best songs. When he sang it at the concert, it gave me the chills it was so well done. Here is the wallpaper.

Brandon Flowers Concert

Yesterday me and my brother Frank went to see Brandon Flowers. The only concert he gave in our country, completely sold out. Before Brandon came on, Fran Healy gave away a one-man show. He's the frontman for the band Travis and it was just him and his guitar. Pretty good performance and easy on the ears. Brandon Flowers came next and he played most of the hits on his album "Flamingo". I was super happy to hear "Magdalena" and "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" and off course "Only the Young" and "Crossfire" were part of his setlist. He played my favorites of the album. He also did his version of Kim Carnes' song "Bette Davis' Eyes", which was awesome. He did three Killers song: "Losing Touch", "Read My Mind" and "Mr. Brightside". The only downside was that his performance lasted for only a bit more then an hour. Overall it was a great show, Brandon sang very well, you could see he enjoyed performing, and he's even more handsome then on TV! We love you Mr. Flowers and thanks for a wonderful show.

New Musical Adventures

I have a lot to look forward too. The 11th, 12th and 13th of June I will visit Pinkpop, the biggest music festival in The Netherlands. I will not go all three days, but there are so many great bands I'm going to see there. Coldplay, Foo Fighters, 30 Seconds to Mars, Manic Street Preachers, Band of Horses, Gaslight Anthem and..... Lifehouse!!! Among others off course. So I'm really looking forward to that. They already sold 50.000 tickets, yesterday, on the first day.
July 6th me and my brother will go and see Brandon Flowers. I'm a big Killers fan but I never saw them live. When we heard that Brandon was coming to The Netherlands, we decided to go to his concert. Because Brandon alone is also great. Really cool, because this is going to be his only concert in our country.
Last, but definitely not least, me and my mother will go to the musical Zorro, november 11th. Totally different from the other musical experiences, but I really like musicals. And I haven't gone for a long time. Last time was May 2010, Mary Poppins.
So there are some great musical adventures waiting for me. And I'm super excited about all of them. As soon as I visited them, you will read about it on my blog.

I'm a huge fan of The Killers. They are very unique and you really can't put them in just one genre of music. Their lead singer, Brandon Flowers, now also has a solo album called "Flamingo". He already had two hits: "Crossfire" and "Only the Young". The first is my favorite, but I'm loving the second one also. So I decide to dedicate a pic spam to Mr. Flowers.

Day & Age

"The Killers" have a great album, Day & Age. Wonderfull. Off course we all know "Human" and "Spaceman", but it's more than that. The album opens with a great song: "Losing Touch". I liked it immediately, just like "This is Your Life". But my favourites are definitly "Dustland Fairytale" and "I Can't Stay". The album is very original and a lot of different songs are on it. I don't regret buying it. "The Killers" rock!!!!!

The Killers

I'm really into The Killers lately. They're a great band from Las Vegas, Nevada. They have their own sound, something that hasn't been done by another band. They are really unique. With singer Brandon Flowers, who has a very distinctive voice. I just love them. And the drummer looks a bit like that guy from "My Name is Earl", haha!. But anyway, here's my favourite song from The Killers (video from YouTube):
