Top 5 Thursday: Saddest Pixar Moments

Pixar and Disney movies are supposed to make us smile and it should make our day better. But even they have moments that make us ball our eyes out. Here are the saddest moments in Pixar movies.

5. “Wall-E” - Wall-E doesn’t remember Eve
The ending of “Wall-E” was super sad. After sacrificing himself to ensure the Axiom space vessel returns to Earth with the plant, Eve is forced to think quickly and replace the broken parts so Wall-E could live. Upon replacing his broken pieces, his memory is lost and he has no sense of who Eve is and starts doing what he was programmed to do… making trash cubes.

4. “Toy Story 3” - Andy gives his toys away
I think every adult had this feeling once: giving, throwing or putting away your toys because you’re getting to old. Hearing Andy tell Bonnie why these toys are special and how they helped him through is just heartbreaking.

3. “Finding Nemo” - Coral dies
Right at the beginning of the movie? Great idea Pixar. Ripping my heart out! “Finding Nemo” starts with marlin and Coral, as they are looking over their eggs that are about to hatch. But a barracuda disturbs their happiness, takes Coral’s life and all but one egg. Why Pixar, why?

2. “Toy Story 2” - Jessie’s story
I think this was the first Pixar moment that made people weep. Jessie is a super likeable character and hearing her backstory and how she was ditched by her owner just makes me cry like a baby.

1. “Up” - Carl and Ellie’s love story
Pixar delivered perhaps the most emotional segment in animation with the beautiful reflection on the married life of Carl and Ellie. It’s happy and sad at the same time.

Me and 3 "Toy Story" Movies

I rewatched the complete “Toy Story” trilogy last weekend and it’s actually one of my favorites movie series of all time. It’s going to have another sequel in 2017, but for now it’s the perfect opportunity to use those three movies for this item.

Toy Story
Genre: Animation/ Family/ Comedy/ Adventure
Year: 1995
Director: John Lasseter
Cast: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Don Rickles, Jim Varney, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Annie Potts, John Morris, Erik von Detten, Laurie Metcalf, R. Lee Ermey, Sarah Freeman, Penn Jillette, Jack Angel, Spencer Aste
Description: Cowboy doll Woody (Tom hanks) is profoundly threatened and jealous when the new spaceman figure Buzz (Tim Allen) supplants him as top toy in a boy's room.
Opinion: Groundbreaking at the time, because it was the first fully computer animated cartoon. It looks stunning and it gave us some of the greatest Disney characters of all time.
Favorite character: Rex (voiced by Wallace Shawn)
Most memorable quote: “What if Andy gets another dinosaur? A mean one? I just don't think I can take that kind of rejection!” – Rex -
Best scene: The moment where Rex is trying to scare Woody, but he doesn’t seem impressed at all.

Toy Story 2
Genre: Animation/ Family/ Comedy/ Adventure
Year: 1999
Director: John Lasseter, Ash Brannon, Le Unkrich
Cast: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Don Rickles, Jim Varney, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Annie Potts, John Morris, Laurie Metcalf, Joan Cusack, Kelsey Grammar, Wayne Knight, Estelle Harris, Jodi Benson, Joe Ranft
Description: When Woody (Tom Hanks) is stolen by a toy collector (Wayne Knight), Buzz (Tim Allen) and his friends vow to rescue him, but Woody finds the idea of immortality in a museum tempting.
Opinion: Another great adventure of our most beloved toys. Almost as great as the first movie.
Favorite character: Rex (Voiced by Wallace Shawn)
Most memorable quote: “How do you spell F.B.I.?” – Rex -
Best scene: That moment where Woody is fixed up by a toy maker.

Toy Story 3
Genre: Animation/ Family/ Comedy/ Adventure
Year: 2010
Director: Lee Unkrich
Cast: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Michael Keaton, Whoopi Goldberg, John Ratzenberger, Joan Cusack, Bonnie Hunt, Timothy Dalton, R. Lee Ermey, Wallace Shawn, Cheech Marin, Frank Welker, Jodi Benson, Laurie Metcalf, Kristen SChaal, Don Rickles, Ned Beatty, Jeff Garlin, Eden Riegel, Gilbert Gottfried, John Morris, Blake Clark, Lee Unkrich, Estelle Harris, Charles Adler, Lou Romano, Elissa Knight, Beatrice Miller, Jeff Pidgeon, Teddy Newton
Description: The toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home.
Opinion: Just when we thought Pixar made one sequel too many, they made “Toy Story 3”. And they also created some great, awesome and loveable new characters!
Favorite character: Rex (Voiced by Wallace Shawn)
Most memorable quote: “Oh yes! Return of the Astro-Nut!” – Hamm -
Best scene: That scene after the credits, where Mr. Pricklepants and one of the aliens are playing there version of Romeo and Juliet.

Watchmojo.com does what I love to do. Create lists. They mostly make top tens about movies or TV, but also music and videogames. I watch their channel on youtube all the time, because I just LOVE lists. I decided to share an interesting one with you. Theories that movie fans have about their favorite films. Some really weird ones, but loads of fun to know about.

Top 5 Thursday: Characters from "Toy Story" series

"Toy Story" isn't just for kids!! I love it. And that's mainly because of its cute, funny, great and amazing characters. Here are my five favorites.

5. Buzz Lightyear
He's one of the two leading characters and in the beginning the most ignorant. Buzz really thinks he's an astronaut and not a toy. I liked him in the third installment, where he's set to Spanish mode.

4. Hamm
A talking piggy bank... Hamm is funny and knows much about the world outside. I like how he feels uncomfortable when his cork is out.

3. Aliƫns
They are adorable. Especially when they see Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head as their parents. And how they say, ooooh.....

2. Mr. Potato Head
His humor is priceless and he can change his face in one second. And then I mean literaly change it. And the burrito version of him is also funny.

1. Rex
The number one was easy! Rex is such a loveable dino, although he is supposed to be a scary tyrannosaurus. He is constantly worried about the fact he isn't scary enough and that his arms are to short. We love his naive view on the world.

They almost made the top 5: Slinky, Weezy and Mr. Pricklepants.

Movie Moments: "Toy Story 2"

I already shared my favorite moments from "Toy Story" with you, so now it's time for the second installment.

Moment # 1: Rex plays a videogame
We see Buzz in action. When he faces his enemy Zurg, we see that it’s Rex playing a Buzz Lightyear videogame. He says he is never going to beat Zurg because his arms are to short.

Moment # 2: “How do you spell F.B.I.?”
While Hamm is reviewing what happened to Woody, the toys are trying to figure out how to get him back. All of a sudden Rex comes running and asks them: “How do you spell F.B.I?”

Moment # 3: Woody meets Bullseye, Jessie and Stinky Pete
Woody was stolen and when he’s trying to escape he meets horse Bullseye, cowgirl Jessie and Stinky Pete. They all know Woody, but he doesn’t understand how. They show him. Woody used to be the star of a TV-show and had a lot of merchandize.

Moment # 4: Camouflage
Buzz and some of the other toys are on their way to save Woody. They have to be careful so no one sees them. Buzz goes first and Rex follows him. He’s covered in leafs, but loses them when he starts walking. Mr. Potato Head, Hamm and Slinky are next and Hamm trips. Coins role out and he says that they can’t look until he’s got the cork back in.

Moment # 5: Traffic cones
Buzz, Hamm, Slinky, Rex and Mr. Potato Head have to cross a street. They get under some orange traffic cones. When they reach the other side Mr. Potato Head says it went well, not knowing that they left behind a huge traffic disaster.

Moment # 6: Fixing up Woody
Al called someone to fix Woody. He cleans him up, repairs his arm and paints over Andy’s name. He looks like new and Woody is thrilled.

Moment # 7: Buzz fights Buzz
Buzz is looking around in Al’s toy store and sees hundreds of Buzz Lightyear dolls. One of them attacks Buzz and they start to fight.

Moment # 8: Barbie
Hamm, Rex, Slinky and Mr. Potato Head are in a car and drive through the Barbie aisle. Their jaws drop and Mr. Potato Head keeps telling himself that he’s a married spud.

Moment # 9: “Ride like the wind!”
Woody and Jessie are playing around. He gets on Bullseye and yells “Ride like the wind Bullseye!” But instead of riding off, he falls.

Moment # 10: “I am your father”
Fake Buzz is fighting Zurg. Buzz tells him he killed his father and Zurg tells him he is his father. Rex defeats Zurg and is very excited that he finally did.

Moment # 11: Welcome home Andy
Andy returns from cowboy camp. All his toys, including Jessie and Bullseye, are waiting for him and welcoming him home.

Moment # 12: Daddy
Because Mr. Potato Head saved the three little aliens, they keep telling him they are enternaly grateful. Mrs. Potato Head is very proud and thinks the aliens are so cute she wants to adopt them. The aliens immediately call him daddy.

Favorite Moment: Moment # 2: “How do you spell F.B.I.?”
