Description: Lisa (Rachel McAdams) on her flight to Miami befriends Jackson (Cillian Murphy) who turns out to be a terrorist. Holding her hostage, he forces her to help him assassinate the United States Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security.

Review: Director Wes Craven usually deals with frenzied, supernatural and/ or gory horror slashers. “Red Eye” is a little different. It’s an efficient psychological thriller with an very simple premise.

Hotel manager Lisa Reisert meets the charming Jackson, before her overnight flight to Miami and is pleasantly surprised to find him sitting next to her on the plane. There is a very sinister reason behind it.
With many of these type of films, it’s mostly the atmosphere that carries the film. But in “red Eye” both characters we’re following have depth. You can relate to Lisa and root for her. And the character of Jackson is really fleshed out as well, he’s not just your standard bad guy with a sinister plan.

The feeling of claustrophobia adds to the atmosphere and thrill, because most part of the film is set on an airplane. Because the characters are stuck in a closed off location, it’s becomes an edge-of-your-seat experience.

Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy are both really good in “Red Eye” and I think this film deserves a lot more praise then it’s getting. It’s a really good, exciting, strong thriller, that I enjoy every time I’m watching it.

Rachel McAdams is one of my favorites and I saw her for the first time in “Wedding Crashers”. I decided to watch more movies of her and she totally stole my heart, every single time. So here are my five favorite movies of her (still have to see “To the Wonder”).

5. The Time Traveler’s Wife
I love the book more, but this movie really is amazing. And Rachel does a fantastic job as Clare.

4. Sherlock Holmes
I loved this movie the first time I saw it. I liked the second one too, but this a little better. I’m a fan of Sherlock Holmes, the character and the books, so I’m critical. This turned out fine and I love it.

3. Red Eye
Such a scary movie, on the edge of you seat exciting! And every time I watch it it’s just as thrilling.

2. The Notebook
Definitely one of the most romantic stories ever told. What a wonderful film. Such perfect chemistry Rachel and Ryan have.

1. Midnight in Paris
This has become one of my favorite films over the years. I’m actually in love with this movie. Not so much Rachel’s character, because Inez is a horrible person, but this movie is just fantastic. People who’ve seen it know what I mean.

Description: This is the story of a young resourceful heroine woman named Lisa Reisert (Rachel McAdams) who hates to fly, but the terror that awaits her on the night flight to Miami has nothing to do with a fear of flying! Upon boarding the plane, Lisa is trapped on a red-eye flight with a creepy villainous handsome and charming man by the name of Jackson Rippner (Cillian Murphy), who's playing middle-man in the plot to assassinate a Homeland Security official. He's got her father pinned down by a would-be killer, using that advantage to coerce Lisa into phoning the luxury resort where she works and arranging to move the target into a pre-set position.

Review: It's a very exciting thriller, that keeps you on the edge of your seat at all times. Murphy plays a very believable villian, but most of the credit goes to McAdams. She's a very talented actress and she proves that in this film. I always loved her performance, but this movie is my favourite. The turning point for her character is the bathroom scene, where she tells herself to 'get up'. Wonderfull scene. The fact that she's on a plane and she is stuck in a terrible situation which she can't get out of, makes this movie exciting. It leaves you with a claustrophobic feeling. I really enjoy this film and so should you, so go watcht it.
