Quotables: "Die Hard"

“Die Hard” is without a doubt one of the best action movies ever made. The main reason why I like this film so much is its leading man Bruce Willis as John McClane. And another reason is the bad guy, Hans Gruber, played by Alan Rickman. And with that there is just so much action, cursing, shooting, bleeding, you name it. Here are my favourite quotes from “Die Hard”.

Supervisor: [as McClane tries to call up police] “Attention, whoever you are, this channel is reserved for emergency calls only”.
John McClane: “No fucking shit, lady. Does it sound like I'm ordering a pizza?”

Weekly Photo Challenge 2013 - Theme # 1: Selfportrait

First day of my photo challenge. This idea came to me. Well, not exactly because I read about it on the internet. I saw a lot of people participating in some kind of photo challenge. Some post a photo every day and have a theme every day. I don't have time for that, so I decided to go with one picture every week. This is the first theme:

For the first theme I had to make a picture of myself. People always say that I do good in photos, I hardly ever look weird on pictures. I don't mind being photographed either, but it has to be spontaneous. So here is my first picture for this challenge.

New Year, Clean Up!

2013 has just begun and I don't have any new years resolutions. I always forget them halfway through the year. But it's time to clean up a little. With that I mean some changes to my blog. People who have been following my blog for a while know that there are some recurring items. Some of them I still want to do, some I want to lose and maybe I will add a new one.

- Movie Tip: I post them very rarely, but whenever I have seen a movie that's worth your while I will let you know.
- 50 Books Challenge: Off course, I just started a new one, for the third time in a row and I love this!!
- Check it Out: Whenever I gathered some awesome links, photos or merchandise I share it with you in this item.

Movie Moments: The Da Vinci Code

"The Da Vinci Code" got a lot of negative critique when it came out. I was one of those moviegoers that liked it immediately. I love the story and excitement of the movie. I would like to share my favorite moments from the film.

Moment # 1: Robert Langdon
We meet professor Robert Langdon while he’s lecturing about symbols.

Moment # 2: Silas
Silas has just committed a murder in the Louvre and is now talking in Latin to someone on the phone. Next we see hem inflict pain to himself. He’s suffering for Jesus Christ.

Moment # 3: Deciphering Saugniére’s messages
Jacques Saugniére left a message for Langdon and Sophie and they need to decipher it. It leads them to the Mona Lisa, where he left another riddle. When the are pointed to Madonna of the Rocks Langdon and Sophie find a fleur-de-lis. It’s a key.

Moment # 4: Cryptex
The key that they found leads Langdon and Sophie to a crypts. Sophie once received one from Saugniére and she tells Langdon all about the cryptex.

Moment # 5: The holy grail
Langdon asks his friend Leigh Teabing for help, because he’s an expert in the holy grail. Teabing explains Langdon and Sophie what the holy grail actually is.

Moment # 6: Langdon opens the cryptex
Teabing wants Sophie to open the cryptex, because he thinks she’s the keeper of the holy grail. Sophie doesn’t know and Langdon gives it a try. He says he can’t either and throws the cryptex at Teabing. It’s broken, but we later see that Langdon retrieved the map before the cryptex broke. The code was apple.

Moment # 7: Sophie is the secret
When Langdon and Sophie think they found Mary Magdalene, Langdon discovers that Sophie is the secret. She is royal blood, the heir, the end of the bloodline, the last living descendant of Jesus Christ.

Moment # 8: Langdon and Sophie say goodbye
After a long journey, Langdon and Sophie say goodbye. Langdon tells her a story about himself, when he was a child. When Sophie goes back to her family, she tries to walk on water, as a joke.

Moment # 9: Langdon follows the roseline
When Langdon is in his hotel room, he decides to follow the roseline. It ends at the point where the two pyramids come together and that’s the place where Mary Magdalene’s sarcophagus is.

This weeks trailers are about a paroled man trying to better his life, two young girls figuring out life, a troubled writer, the chaotic life of a clumpsy deadbeat and a snail who dreams of becoming a racer.

Top 5 Thursday: Movie Couples of 2012

I did a top 5 like this last year, so I'm doing it now. My favorite on screen couples of 2012.

5. Scarlett Johannson and Jeremy Renner (“The Avengers”)
Although technicaly they aren't a couple, but they had amazing chemistry and there is something more going on.

4. Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg (“Ted”)
A funny and very sexy couple. Liked them together on screen and they looked believable as well.

3. Emily Blunt and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“Looper”)
A troubled couple, they both have a lot of issues. Maybe that drawes... But Emily Blunt and Joseph Gordon-Levitt look amazing together.

2. Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum (“The Vow”)
The cutest and most heartwarming couple on this list. They are on fire!

1. Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth (“Snow White and the Huntsman”)
Before I saw the movie I didn't see it, just because I wasn't a Kristen Stewart fan. But after I saw the movie I was super happy about this duo. And who can not fall for Chris Hemsworth? Exactly...
