Monthly 4: November 2015

November was the Bond month, the month in preperation for Christmas and also a very windy and stormy month here in the Netherlands. Here are my favorite moments of November 2015.

1. I had to start with my Christmas cards this month. Probably a little late, but now I have the supplies I want to make the cards I want.

2. Me and my friend Matty and Inge went to Valkenburg this month, where we participated in a detective game. We had to solve a ‘murder’. It was fun. So much fun, that we continued our detective mood at home playing Clue.

3. My mom is very good at crocheting. She made me this Rudolph for Christmas!

4. It was a month full of Bond movies. I rewatched almost every movie in the franchise (some I had already rewatched in October). But what I was really waiting for was “Spectre”. It got mixed reviews, but I really liked it!

Monthly 4: October 2015

It mostly was a craft monty, but October is also the month of my birthday. Here ar my four favorite moments of October 2015.

1. Together with my friend Inge I visited Matty. He had a movie night planned for us, with bot “Johnny English” movies. Fun yet forgettable, though they are Matty’s favorites.

2. I turned 31 this month and I got lots of present. But my friends Irene and Evelien surprised me the most. The bought me a Cuttlebug, something I wanted for so long! And I’ve been having a lot of fun with it every since.

3. My friend Matty got me the game Carcassone for my birthday and I tested it with Irene, Evelien and Chris. Fun game!

4. One of my favorite days every year is going to the Kreadoe with my mom. It’s an arts and crafts fair and I really got some amazing supplies.

Monthly 4: September 2015

The month of September was filled with creativity and I think October will be even more creative. And a movie filled month it was as well. Here are my favorite moments of september.

1. I’ve been watching a lot of youtube card making videos. Kristina Werner, Jennifer McGuire and Nichol Magouirk are my favorites.

2. My friends Matty and Inge never saw “Jaws”, so I has to change that.

3. I’m very proud of myself, because I finally watched “The Conjuring”. All by myself! I don’t do well with stories like this, but I just wanted to see this movie. And it was fantastic. Oh, and scary as hell and I didn’t sleep for days….

4. My new favorite stamp brand is Lawn Fawn. I ordered a couple of sets online and I just love making cards with these cute stamps. I found my creative mojo again!

Monthly 4: August 2015

ANother month went by. Itwas a month woth ups and downs. I did one super amazing thing, and some bad things happened. Like my dad who was in an accident and me going into surgery.

1. In August me and my brother traveled to the Galapagos Islands. What an amazing place to be. We saw so many islands, not one island is the same. And there are so many beautiful animals, who you can get really close to. For travel fans and nature lovers, I can recommend the Galapagos Islands.

2. In the Galapagos, we also went snorkeling a couple of times. I never thought I would do that though. It was a bit scary, but I’m glad I did it.

3. I love arts and crafts and hand lettering is one of my recent new hobbies. I doodles this happy birthday card for my friend Inge and send her this pic.

4. Okay, maybe this is not one of my favorite things, but I had surgery this month. They removed vascular veins and now I have to wear this ugly sock for three weeks.

Monthly 4: July 2015

It was a weird month. A month where I had to make a hard decision, discovered new friendships and it was shown to me that I have the most awesome family and friends. Here are my favorite moments of July 2015.

1. When I’m feeling down, my friends and family always know how to cheer me up. Since December 2014 there is a new person that does that too: Vayèn!

2. After a tough couple of weeks I made a very difficult decision: quit as a teacher and start something new. What that new is, I yet have to discover. But I went out with a bang, having a great time with my co-workers (Inge and Matty on the photo.

3. With that same Inge and Matty I went to the amusement park Phantasialand in Germany. Fun time, which also always needs some cotton candy. It’s so bad for you, but it’s also soooo good!

4. A couple of days after our rollercoaster adventure, Matty, Inge and I went to Cologne. We climb the stairs of the “Kölner Dom” (533 steps up, 533 steps down!). It was a fun day!

Better late than never. Here are my favorite moments of June!

1. I finally did it, I got a bob line! I wanted this for such a long time, but I was a bit scared. So bit by bit I did it. And it looks kinda nice.

2. Vayèn really lights my day every time I see her. Irene and Evelien visited me with her and my day was better again!

3. My dad did an amazing job on putting all my photos on the wall. And I can expand it whenever I want.

4. We went on a school trip to the zoo. It was a fun day with the kids and my co-workers.

Monthly 4: May 2015

Here are the highlights of the month of may.

1. My brother and I once bought the “Band of Brothers” DVD box for my father, because he loves war movies and shows. That’s probably the only genre he stays awake for, haha. I decided to rewatch the series myself, by borrowing the DVD box. Watched it in only three days.

2. This bag is my now grocery shopping bag. It says, translated to English, I ship fur free! Good statement, right!

3. I wanted to do it for a long time, but I finally did it. I joined Twitter! And it’s so much fun, you meet lots of new people with similar interests. You can check it out here: @JoyceMovieGeek

4. Florence + the Machine is awesome and I pre-ordered the new album. It arrived this month and it’s amazing. As always! And it comes with a beautiful picture book and slip cover.

Monthly 4: April 2015

Here are my highlights for the month of april.

1. I don’t have a lot of plants. Okay, I have one. And a couple on the balcony, but nature takes care of those. So my mom said I should get some cactuses, because they are low maintenance. So I got three and I actually love them!

2. My friend Natascha gave birth to her second daughter Saar this month. She and her husband Mark already had a girl, named Caro.

3. On King’s day it tradition there are lots of flea markets. I always go to them with my mom, but never buy anything. With the exception of this year. I found two awesome DVD’s for only 1 euro each. That’s a bargain!

4. Call me a nerd, but this was my highlight this month, seeing “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. It was freakin’ awesome!!!

Monthly 4: March 2015

March has ended, where we already had some Sunny days here in the Netherlands. Before enjoying April, here are some highlights of my March.

1. I bought these really cute pajama pants, pink with black hearts. I’m not the girl that loves pink, but I really wanted these pants! And they are very comfortable.

2. I discovered a new hobby: hand lettering. I bought some new supplies and it’s so much fun. And I’m really getting better by the project.

3. I had my moment in October, but my best friend Evelien turned 30 this month. I made an alphabet book of our friendship, with something related to our friendship for every letter in the alphabet. She loved the present.

4. The Dutch version of “The Secret Diary of a Call Girl” just started on television and I really enjoy the show. But after seeing the first episode, there were these amazing bedsheets the girl had on the show. I went looking for them and after hours of checking every online store, I found it. I went out and bought it the next day. Together with those new pajama pants, it’s sleep tight for me!

Monthly 4: February 2015

I did some nice things with friends and family this month.

1. Every year you can collect stamps at my local supermarket. When you have 60 stamps, you get a surprise grocery packet (normally costs 50 euros). I sound like a desperate housewife now, but it’s super useful!

2. I had a week off, so me and mom went shopping. And we also had a lovely lunch, with hot coco and cream on top. Not very healthy, but soooo delicious!

3. Me and my friends Natascha and Linda went for a high-tea, with a nice view of the river. Again not very healty, but fun and nice to catch up with my friends.

4. I already can’t miss little Vayèn and she also seems very comfortable when she’s with me. This photo is so adorable.

Monthly 4 - December 2014

The end of the year and a great month to end that year.

1. I saw "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" with my brother Frank and my good friend Chris. The last chapter of the epoc story and it was an amazing movie. It's my least favorite in the series, but it was still wonderful.

2. Off course I celebrated Christmas, as Always with my parents and my brother. I love Christmas. I got some awesome presents. Especially the chopping board with my name on it was great.

3. My mom and I went to Paris for a day. Paris is such a beautiful city and with Christmas it's also gorgeous. It was an exhausting day, but worthed.

4. The highlight of this month, probably even of the entire year, happened on december 30th. My best Irene, who I know since I was 6, had a daughter. Her name is Vayèn and she is beautiful. It was such a special moment to see them for the first time. Now I'm "aunt" Joyce, a new role that I'm going to fulfill with joy!

Monthly 4 - November 2014

The last day of november. I did and saw some great things.

1. Every year my mom and I go to Kreadoe. It’s a fair for everything that has to do with arts & crafts. Two big halls filled with stands with all sorts of hobby’s, it’s a dream world for every creative person.

2. I bought the DVD of “True Detective” season 1 for my brother’s birthday. He is a big fan and he kept raving about it. So he told me I had to watch it too. And I did. I finished it in two days! I was hooked immediately and Matthew McConaughey plays his best role ever. Great show.

3. After waiting an entire year, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” finally made it to the theatres. Me and my brother saw it on opening night. It is my least favorite of the series so far, but still very awesome!

4. My friend Irene is having her first baby and my other friend Evelien and I arranged a baby shower for her. She didn’t know about it. Irene was super surprised when she saw us all sitting there.

Monthly 4: October 2014

It's almost the end of the month and October (my favorite month) had some great moments.

1. On October 7th I turned 30, a big number! I celebrated it on October 11th with my family and friends and I had a wonderful day. My two best friends, Irene and Evelien, made a photobook for me, from the 30 years I have lived and all the great things we did together. I really loved it. I got some awesome cookbooks from my parents and season six of “Sons of Anarchy” from my brother. On the picture you can see me holding a cake, made by Natascha, especially for my 30th.

2. Finally there it was, the new season of “The Walking Dead”. What an awesome premiere! It was mind blowing. One scene really grossed me out, I almost threw up.

3. I read about the FeelGood Market (just the name alone is inviting) in a magazine and I thought this was something for me and my mom. It’s a market with fantastic food, handmade creations and music. It was so cool. There was one stand with dried fruits, which my mom and I loved.

4. My brother and I had brunch at the farmer’s market my mom works. It was all delicious home cooked food, made with fresh produce they sell at the market. And I got to spend quality time with my brother.

Monthly 4: September 2014

A new item! At the end of every month (or beginning) I will share with you 4 pictures of things I did that month, special activities of that month or just memorable moments. So lets get started.

1. I saw "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" in theaters, finally. It was a long wait. Me and my brother went to the late night viewing. This movie was awesome in 3D.

2. I got a haircut. I have been postponing this for such a long time. When I saw my favorite cousin with a new haircut, it inspired me to go for it too. My hair was very long, so they cut off a lot. But I'm very happy with it!

3. I rewatched season 4 of "The Walking Dead", to be well prepared for the fifth season that's starting mid october. Can't wait.

4. Together with the kids in my class, I played around with clay. We made prehistorical pottery and really got our hands dirty. It was so much fun and the results were great.
