Netflix Friday - Volume 43

Some Netflix film tips for the weekend! And there is something for everyone, since I picked a movie for all the different genres.
 

Action: S.W.A.T. (2003)
An imprisoned drug kingpin (Olivier Martinez) offers a huge cash reward to anyone that can break him out of police custody, and only the L.A.P.D.’s Special Weapons and Tactics team can prevent it.
 

Drama: News of the World (2021)
A civiv war vetera agrees to deliver a girl (Helena Zengel), taken by the Kiowa people years ago, to her aunt and uncle, against her will. They travel hundreds of miles and face grave dangers as they search for a place that either can call home.
 

Comedy: The Dictator (2012)
The heroic story of a dictator (Sacha Baron Cohen) who risked his life to ensure that democracy would bever come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.
 

Animation: Spirited Away (2001)
During her family’s move to the suburbs, a sullen 10-year-old girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and spirits, and where humans are changed into beasts.
 

Romance: Hitch (2005)
A smooth-talking man (Will Smith) falls for a hardened columnist (Eva Mendes) while helping a shy accountant (Kevin James) woo a beautiful heiress Amber Valetta).
 

Horror: Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)
The Lamberts believe that they have defeated the spirits that have haunted their family, but they soon discover that evil is not beaten easily.
 

Science Fiction: Man of Steel (2013)
An alien child (Henry Cavill) is evacuated from his dying world and sent to Earth to live among humans. His peace is threatened, when other survivors of his home planet invade Earth.
 

Crime: If Beale Street Could Talks (2018)
A young woman (Kiki Layne) embraces her pregnancy while she and her family set out to prove her childhood friend and lover innocent of a crime he didn’t commit.
 

Thriller: The Debt (2012)
In 1965, three Mossad Agents (Jessica Chastain, Sam Worthington, Marton, Csokas) cross into East Berlin to apprehend a notorious Nazi war criminal. Thirty years later, the secrets the agents (Helen Mirren, Tom Wilkenson, Ciáran Hinds) share come back to haunt them.
 

Documentary: Roll Red Roll (2018)
An account of a notable sexual assault that took place in Steubenville, Ohio in 2012, and the role that social media played in the crime and on the community.
 

Family: Goosebumps (2015)
A teenager (Dylan Minetti) teams up with the daughter (Odeya Rush) of young adult horror author R.L. Stine (Jack Black) after the writer’s imaginary demons are set free on the town of Madison, Delaware.

The Cold Light of Day
Description: A young Americans (Henry Cavill) family is kidnapped while on a vacation to Spain. He is left with only hours to find the connection between their disappearance and his father's (Bruce Willis) secrets.

Red Lights
Description: Two investigators of paranormal hoaxes, the veteran Dr. Margaret Matheson (Sigourney Weaver) and her young assistant, Tom Buckley (Cillian Murphy), study the most varied metaphysical phenomena with the aim of proving their fraudulent origins. Simon Silver (Robert De Niro), a legendary blind psychic, reappears after an enigmatic absence of 30 years to become the greatest international challenge to both orthodox science and professional sceptics. Tom starts to develop an intense obsession with Silver, whose magnetism becomes stronger with each new manifestation of inexplicable events. As Tom gets closer to Silver, tension mounts, and his worldview is threatened to its core.

Crooked Arrows
Description: A mixed-blood Native American, Joe Logan (Brandon Routh), eager to modernize his reservation, must first prove himself to his father, the traditionalist Tribal Chairman, by rediscovering his spirit. He is tasked with coaching the reservation's high school lacrosse team which competes against the better equipped and better trained players of the elite Prep School League. Joe inspires the Native American boys and teaches them the true meaning of tribal pride. Ignited by their heritage and believing in their new-found potential, coach and team climb an uphill battle to the state championship finals against their privileged prep school rivals. Will they win?

Comment: I thinks this is going to be ignored by most people, but this really looks like a great movie.

The Dictator

Conception
