Review: The second season of “La Casa de Papel” starts where season 1 left us. El Professor and Raquel return to the house in Toledo, were his masterplan was schemed. While Berlin, Tokio and all the others try to print even more money and treat the hostages as well as they can. But everyone is tired and a lot of unplanned situations happen. They are tense and lose focus. While El Professor is trying to lead the plan as well as he can, the exact opposite happens. Will this masterful heist end well?
The tempo in the first episodes is a lot slower then in season 1. I didn’t like this, because the pace is one reason why season 1 was so good. But if you’re patient, “La Casa de Papel’s” second season gets better along the way and the pace picks up. There are some high tension moments and the conclusion is amazing.
The cast is again really strong. Álvaro Morte, as El Professor, impresses again and plays his role almost with perfection. But also the supporting roles are strong, like Alba Flores as Nairobi, Itziar Ituño as Raquel and Pedro Alonso as Berlin. The characters keep developing and sometimes surpass themselves. The best character are without a doubt El Professor and Berlin.
Even though the second season has a slow start, the series picks up and becomes again a nail biter filled with tension and excitement. It pure entertainment.
