Best movie endings

I've decided to make another movie list, this time with the best movie endings. If you want to continue reading, please be carefull: SPOILER ALERT!!!

Memento: The movie screws with your head, because it starts at the end and ends with the beginning (confused already?). Leonard wants to find out who killed his wife, but we learn that she committed suicide.

Seven: "What's in the box"? Classic movie line. We don't actually see it, but we know it's Gwyneth's head. Two of the deathly sins meeting face to face. John Doe is jealous at David Mills' domestic life (envy) and David wants revenge for Doe killing his wife (wrath).

The Shawshank Redemption: Andy's escape, how he told the press about the corruption at Shawshank, his new identity and him finally meeting with his friend Red again. Everything is just perfect.

Planet of the Apes: George realizes that he isn't on another planet, but on his own: planet earth. And then that final line: "You Maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!". The remake just didn't get it right.

The Sixth Sense: We find out that Bruce Willis' character has been death all along. Didn't see that one coming!!

The Usual Suspects: Probably the best ending ever! The clumbsy, limb Verbal Kint turns out to be mastermind Keyser Soze. Genious!

Fight Club: Tyler Durden wasn't real. He was in Norton's head.

The Game: Playing a game where you're actually risking your own life. Well it was a game allright, but all planned by Nicolas' brother Conrad. Maybe it was a little to perfect, but it was suprising.

The Departed: You think Colin Sullivan is the big winner, because he killed Billy Costigan and no one finds out about his dirty work as a mole. But then Dignam shows up at his appartment and shoots him. Very unexpected.
The original is even better, the bad guy wins.

The Prestige: Robert Angier thinks he outsmarted Alfred Borden. No way, Borden had a twin brother and Angier ends up dead.

Mystic River: Jimmy kills Dave, because he killed his daughter. He acts suspicious and we see that Dave struggles with something, but we learn that he didn't kill Jimmy's daughter. At the end you see Sean Devine looking at Jimmy, pointing his fingers at him, shaped as a gun. He probably knows about the killing.

American Psycho: Did Patrick Bateman actually kill all those people? I love a movie that leaves you thinking afterwards.

Tomorrow... works starts again.

I had a week off, tomorrow I start working again. In that week I was very creative and I made another 4 cards. When I start working again, I don't have time for that during the day. And in the evening I mostly meet up with my friends Irene and Evelien, watch a movie (or "CSI" or other TV show) or I'm too tired. I love my job, so I'm glad to go back to work again. And to see my collegues.
Well the cards that I made include my new Magnolia stamps again. Here they are:

Joyce's Rock Festival

My brother and I are planning on going to a rock festival, where Pearl Jam is going to be the headliner. That's still the only band to be contracted, so we started a brainstorm. What if you had an unlimited budget and we could get every band/ artist we want, which 10 acts would be on your own rock festival? Hard, but here's my list:

- Pearl Jam;
- Lifehouse;
- Foo Fighters;
- Jack Johnson;
- Bryan Adams;
- Snow Patrol;
- Greenday;
- The Killers;
- Bruce Springsteen;
- Alanis Morissette.

I would put Metallica and The Eagles on it, but I've already seen them. Metallica even twice.

First Magnolia cards

I finally got my Magnolia stamps. I already made five cards with those stamps. Here they are:

I think soon I will post many more Magnolia cards (and order more stamps, haha). I hope I inspired my fellow scrappers. Good day to y'all!!

Movie Tip #38 - The Wolfman

Director: Joe Johnston

Starring: Benicio Del Toro, Emily Blunt, Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving

Description: Lawrence Talbot (Benicio Del Toro), a haunted nobleman, is lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother... and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Talbot's childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother's fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) has come to investigate.

Review: I saw it yesterday and I am very enthousiastic about it. It's a remake of a movie from the 1940's and it has the atmosphere of a classical horror movie. Grim, dark, sober and very scary. The only difference with a classiscal horror movie is that this film actually has good acting in it. Benicio Del Toro has always been one of my favorites and he proves again why he is. Emily Blunt is a charming actress, she plays her role just right and her acting is perfect. She made a great duo with Del Toro. I don't have to convince you about Anthony Hopkins' acting, because just like Denzel Washington he's one of those actors that hardly ever stars in a 'bad' movie. The only down side was the running time of the film. It was only 102 minutes long, they could have stretched that a little bit. That's just a minor point, so don't let that stop you. "The Wolfman" was definitely worth the money and I could recommend it to every horror fan.

Best Sawyer/ Juliet moments

Yesterday I posted my favorite TV couples. One of them was Sawyer and Juliet from "Lost". Well that romance ended recently, because Juliet died, but they had so many great moments together. Here are some of my favorites:

"Ladies first"
Sawyer tells Juliet that he's sorry that he asked her to stay, when she could leave the island. She's thankfull for him asking her that. They now have to get on the sub and Sawyer says: "ladies first".

Juliet meeting Sawyer at the beach
After Sawyer jumped out of the chopper, he swam back to the island, where he meets Juliet. They witness a big flash and that's when the island moves.

"Stay for 2 weeks"
Juliet has the chance to leave the island, but Sawyer asks her to stay for another 2 weeks. She does and that's the beginning of a wonderful relationship.

"Where do you think you're going blondie?"
Juliet is dragged into a giant whole when Sawyer grabs her arm and says: "Where do you think you're going blondie?" He can't hold on to her and she falls.

"I love you back"
Sawyer and Juliet are on the sub, thinking about how their life out in the real world. Juliet doesn't know what that means anymore and tells him she loves him. Sawyer responding: "I love you back".

"I love you - I love you too"
It's been 4 years and Sawyer picks a flower. It's meant for Juliet. She thanks Sawyer for believing in her and tells him she loves him. Sawyer says "I love you too".

The goodbye
Sawyer realizes that Juliet is still alive and gets to her. When Juliet is trying to tell him something, she dies in Sawyer's arms. One of the most heartbreaking moments on "Lost".

Early holiday card

I'm into card making lately, but maybe this is a little bit too much. I made my first Christmas card of the year. I know, it's february we just had Christmas. But I have to send a lot of cards in december, so I thought why not start allready? Well here it is:

The stamp I used is from "Marianne Clear Stamps". I recently told you that I love Magnolia stamps and that I would love to own some, but they are hard to find here in The Netherlands. Well I found a dutch website, of a scrapbook store, where they sell Magnolia stamps. I ordered four stamps, so soon they will arrive. I'm so excited (About stamps? Really Joyce?). So you'll see the stamps soon and my creations with those stamps.

Best TV couples

Yes, I made another list. This time with my favorite TV couples. It was a little harder then I eventually thought it would be, but I managed. And it was a lot of fun to do. So many couples to choose from, but then I realized that some of them aren't actual couples yet. So I made another shorter list of characters that I want to end up together. Here they are, in random order:

Sara and Michael ("Prison Break"): They were meant to be together from the first time they met.

Izzie and Denny ("Grey's Anatomy"): They were so cute together, why did he have to die? I never liked Alex and Izzie together. I even liked her better when she was with George and that relationship was doomed to fail.

Jim and Pam ("The Office"): Great couple. It took them long enough to finally admit to their feelings, but they rule!

Lincoln and Sofia ("Prison Break"): We didn't get to see them having a relationship, untill the final episode, but they were perfect for each other.

Sylar and Elle ("Heroes"): Even evil people need love, right? They really spiced it up for each other. I liked this pair-up. She loved him so much that she died for him (actually because of him, but let's stay positive).

Nathan and Haley ("One Tree Hill"): I think this has been the most constant couple on TV. Yes, they have their problems, but they always end up together. Nathan and Haley are a match made in heaven.

Sawyer and Juliet ("Lost"): At first I didn't really like Juliet, so I never thought I would be happy to see them hook up. But when they did, I was! They were great together. She tamed him and made him want to be a better man. So sad when Juliet died (we actually saw Sawyer cry).

Susan and Mike ("Desperate Housewives"): They've been through a lot, but everyone knows that Susan and Mike are right for each other.

Chuck and Ned ("Pushing Daisies"): I just love them!

Dean and Jo ("Supernatural"): They realized what they felt for each other, they kissed and then..... Jo died. From the first episode Jo was in, I rooted for those two to hook up. And when it finally happens, they decide to kill off Jo. Poor Dean.

Brooke and Lucas ("One Tree Hill"): Lucas looks great on every woman's side, but I always liked him with Brooke. But him ending up with Peyton was also OK.

I wish they were couples:
Catherine and Nick ("CSI"): There has always been a lot of chemistry between those two. Why not make it happen?

Damon and Elena ("The Vampire Diaries"): I know, she's in love with the good brother, Stefan. But the tension between her and Damon is so much better.

Sawyer and Claire ("Lost"): With Juliet dead, Sawyer needs someone. Kate is bad for him, because she can't choose between Jack and Sawyer (easy choice for me) and with Claire being back... I always wanted them to be a couple, don't know why.

Who brightens up MY day???

I had a Robert Downey Jr. wallpaper and I thought it was time for a new one. Not that Downey bored me (he never does), but you'll need a little change every once in a while. And who is the lucky one this time? Yes.... Jensen Ackles again. I seriously can't get enough of him. Whenever I'm having a crappy day or I'm feeling a little bit down, I pop in a "Supernatural" DVD and there it is: my happy mood! I've got Jensen to thank for that. He really brightens up my day (I know, it sounds cheesy). But really ladies, how can someone NOT like Jensen Ackles? Exactly! Here's my latest desktop art:

Feel free to use it on your own computer.

Oscar predictions 2010

I'm looking forward to the Academy Awards, in march. I always try to predict and this year so are my parents and my brother. It's a competition and it's fun. It's a bit harder this year, because there are 10 nominees in the category Best Movie, but still it's a lot of fun. I still don't understand why they did that, but anyway.Here are my predictions for the bigger categories:

[MOVIE] "The Hurt Locker" (or "Avatar")
[ACTOR] Jeff Bridges for "Crazy Heart"
[ACTRESS] Sandra Bullock for "The Blind Side"
[SUPPORTING ACTOR] Christoph Waltz for "Inglorious Basterds"
[SUPPORTING ACTRESS] Mo'nique for "Precious"
[DIRECTOR] Kathryn Bigalow for "The Hurt Locker"

I'm actually hoping for Jeff, Sandra and Cristoph. For the film and director I'm wishing that finally Tarantino wins an oscar for "Inglorious Basterds", allthough I think he made better movies, he does deserve it anyway. We'll see, we'll see!!!

Cards with Ollyfant Stamps

I bought new stamps, from Ollyfant. A cute little boy on a fence and a girl on a blanket. They are adorable. They look a bit like the Magnolia stamps, but I don't own those. They are very hard to get here in The Netherlands. But when I got ho an arts & crafts fair I will keep my eyes open for them. I made two cards with my new stamps. I colored them with copic markers. So here they are:

Love Sucks

I recently got hooked on a new TV show: "The Vampire Diaries". It just started here in The Netherlands and I loved it from the first episode on. There's always been something about vampires. I really get Elena, she's suffering from a great loss and then she falls in the arms of a handsome vampire Stefan (not knowing that he is one). Little does she know that Stefans brother Damon is even more handsome and charming, but slighty evil. Allthough Damon is the 'evil' brother, I feel more drawn to him then to Stefan. He did something to me, that's why he's my favorite character. It seems that I have a thing for the 'not- so- perfect- bad- ass' kinda guy (Like Dean from "Supernatural", Lincoln from "Prison Break" and Sawyer from "Lost").
I'm really curious about how this show is going to develope and how the love triangle between Stefan, Elena and Damon unfolds. Of all the vampire TV shows that are on (Like the stupid "True Blood" which has way too much sex and nudity in it and the very good but cancelled "Moonlight"), I like "The Vampire Diaries" the best.
