Sawyer's nicknames

Allthough Sawyer isn't always a nice man, he has always been my favorite character on "Lost". I like how he thinks of nicknames for all the other people on the island. So with the last season starting this week, I deceide to make a list of my favorite nicknames. Here they are, in random order:
|| Tokyo Rose (Sun) ||Mighty Huntress (Kate) || Lollipop (Alex) || Kato (Jin) || Plato (Daniel) || Munchkin (Charlie) || Ghengis (Miles) || Barbie (Shannon) || Dr. Do-Right (Jack) || Jiminy Cricket (Charlie) || Bruce Lee (Miles) || Thelma (Kate) || Sassafras (Kate) ||Scotty (Desmond) || Sulu (Jin) || Snuffy (Hurley) || Metro (Boone) || Sundance (Jack) || Captain A-rab (Sayid) || Stay Puft (Hurley) || Deepdish (Hurley) || Mr. Muscle (Mr. Eko) || Tattoo (Walt) || Madame Butterfly (Sun) || Colonel Kurtz (Locke) || Mr. Miyagi (Jin) || Oliver Twist (Charlie) || Sally Slingshot (Alex) || Al Jazeera (Sayid) || Jumbotron (Hurley) || Han (Michael) || Yoda (Ben) || Barbar (Hurley) || Captain Falafel (Sayid) || Gizmo (Ben) ||Shaft (Mr. Eko) || Gimpy McCrutch (Locke) || International House of Pancakes (Hurley) || Captain Bunny Killer (Ben) || Dr. Wizard (Daniel)

And now my three favorites:
|| Freckles (Kate) || Mr. Clean (Locke) || Dr. Giggles (Jack)

Stripper men, a horse and Sherlock

I know, the title sounds odd, but those are the subjects of my latest scrapbook layouts. I've been busy again and I have to say I'm very happy with all three results.

Here is a layout for "The Full Monty" the musical that I visited:

This one is my favorite. A horse in the middle of nowhere, beautiful picture:

And last but not least "Sherlock Holmes", a layout for the movie I saw last weekend:

I'm getting better and better every single time. Scrapbooking is a hobby of mine, but I can get angry when it doesn't turn out the way I want it to. This time I was very satisfied with my own work. And I can tell you one thing: That doesn't happen very often! Hopefully I inspired my fellow scrapbookers.

Movie Tip #37 - Sherlock Holmes

Director: Guy Ritchie

Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Mark Strong, Eddie Marsan, Kelly Reilly

Description: After finally catching serial killer and occult "sorcerer" Lord Blackwood, legendary sleuth Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) and his assistant Dr. Watson (Jude Law) can close yet another successful case. But when Blackwood (Mark Strong) mysteriously returns from the grave and resumes his killing spree, Holmes must take up the hunt once again. Contending with his partner's new fiancée and the dimwitted head of Scotland Yard, the dauntless detective must unravel the clues that will lead him into a twisted web of murder, deceit, and black magic - and the deadly embrace of temptress Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams).

Review: I was excited to see this movie, because I just love Sherlock Holmes Stories and because of Robert Downey Jr. Well, I got want I wanted. The movie opens with Holmes chasing Lord Blackwood and you're completely dragged into the atmosphere of the film. The music is also rousing which makes it even more thrilling. Soon we see that Downey Jr. as Holmes was a perfect choice. Intelligent humour, quirky manners and a ton of charm. Especially the scene with the little and big hammer and the part where they are trying to 'save bullets' are hilarious. Jude Law is a great sidekick (they first thought of Colin Farrell, so not a Watson) and he's charming as ever. So is Rachel McAdams, who I always liked very much. She plays the only woman who outsmarted Holmes and we see that the mutual love for each other isn't gone. The ending was open, so a second movie is coming. I can't wait! To make a long story short, "Sherlock Holmes" is a fantastic movie with good acting, intriguing story and great music. Go see it, it's worthed.

Bohemian Rhapsody by the Muppets

It's a very popular video on youtube and I saw it for the first time a couple of days ago. "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a classic by Queen. But now the Muppets made their own version of it. I'd like to share it with you and you'll find out why I think this is hilarious. Also fun: try to name all the Muppets in the video (I couldn't, but maybe you can). Here's the link:

Golden Globes 2010

Did everyone see the Golden Globes? Well I did and there were a lot of highlights there. There were also some downsides. I made a list of them:

{Highlights}
- Christoph Waltz winning "Best Supporting Actor" award for "Inglourious Basterds". He was definitely the best performer in that film and he really deserved to win.
- Sandra Bullock winning "Best Leading Actress, Drama" for "The Blind Side". She's one of my favorite actresses and I could never explain why. Now I finally have a good reason!
- Ricky Gervais joking about Mel Gibson
- Robert Downey Jr. winning for "Best Leading Actor, Musical/ Comedy" for "Sherlock Holmes". And his acceptance speech was another highlight.
- Paul McCarthey telling people that animated movies are also for adults... on drugs.
- Jeff Bridges winning "Best Leading Actor" for "Crazy Heart". I always thought he was an underestimated actor. Now he got recognition.

{Downsides}
- Monique winning "Best Supporting Actress" for "Precious". I'm just not a fan of Monique (can't really stand her). I would've given it to Vera Farmiga, Anne Kendrick, Penelope Cruz OR Julianne Moore.
- "Avatar" winning "Best Motion Picture, Drama". Come on, I don't get the whole hype. Why didn't they just give it to "Inglourious Basterds".
- "Inglourious Basterds" not winning at all (besides Christoph Waltz). I knew it! And at the Academy Awards it'll be the same. It's not Academy material.
- "(500) Days of Summer" not winning "Best Motion Picture, Musical/ Comedy".

The rest I didn't really care much for. In two weeks they will announce the Academy Award nominees. I will probably try to guess who will win (and tell you who I want to win). So that's coming soon....

The Full Monty

I love the movie "The Full Monty" , about six unemployed men who decide to become strippers, because women would pay a lot to see the Chippendales. Only these men will go the full monty. Well, yesterday I saw it live! I went to see the musical version of "The Full Monty" and I have to say that it's the most hilarious musical I ever saw. The story was very similar to the movie and the songs were great. The leading actors were perfectly cast. Especially Dave and the suicidal Martin. They were also the funniest men of the group.
In the movie you don't actually see them going the full monty, because you see their behind. But in the musical we saw every bit of it! Reviews said it only took 3 seconds. Well, it was a little bit more then three seconds. I think it's very brave of those guys to do that every night in front of so many people (mostly women). They got a loud applause and they had to come back for like three or four times. It's a great musical and if it plays in your country, please go see it. It's a real treat. As you can see, I had a lot of fun:

Animal themed layouts

I made three new layouts for my scrapbook. I realized, after I finished them, that they all involve animals. The first one is with birds, the ones that I spotted in our yard.

The second layout features my day and my dog Tyson. They both like to take a nap on the couch. Cute huh!

Last but not least a layout about my rabbit Oscar. Weird little Oscar.

I hope you like my work. I'm certainly happy with them. I hope you feel inspired....

Silly rabbit

My rabbit Oscar really is a weird animal. When I come down in the morning, he actually greets me (just like a dog). He stand up straight and he won't stop until I say something to him. He can jump very high! He actually jumped out of his cage once. I was getting him food, so I let the lid open for a while. All of a sudden he was standing next to me. He also can have his racing moments. He starts racing trough his cage, like a stark raving made rabbit. But I read that it means that he's happy (in his case very happy, he's like roadrunner). Oscar also gives bunny kisses. He licks you (again, just like a dog). Apparently that means that he's comfortable with you. So my conclusion, I have a silly but very happy rabbit. Here are some pictures I took when Oscar thought he had to hide in the hay.

Down with Downey Jr.

I haven't made any new wallpapers for a long time. I had the Supernatural wallie up for a while now. I never get sick of those guys, but it was time for a fresh wallpaper. So I made one of Robert Downey Jr. That guy fascinates me everytime. I don't know what it is, but he does something to me. I'm looking forward to him in "Sherlock Holmes" which premieres this thursday here in the Netherlands. And I absolutely loved him in "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. So here's the wallpaper:

I thought that was a very funny photoshoot of him. Especially the one with the TNT cigare. The letters I used are from "The Godfather". For all of you Downey Jr. fans, feel free to use it on your own computer.

And this one I made for someone else, a huge Taylor Lautner fan (I'm not a fan BTW). It's in the same style as the Robert Downey jt. wallpaper.

When it snowed here in The Netherlands I made some pictures of the birds in our yard.

Here is one of a Robin:

Two Sparrows:

A Tit Bird:

And a Blackbird:

These are great pictures for my scrapbook. Hope you like them too.
