Review: We meet donkey EO, who performs tricks in a circus, and even though he sometimes gets a whipping, EO is surrounded with love. This changes when activists free the donkey from the circus. As a result, EO gets to roam the Polish and Italian countryside. On this trek, the animal encounters humanity in all its guises. EO does receive love, but mostly pain, because not everyone treat animals with the same kindness. The donkey experiences this all too well. And mankind doesn’t exactly look good in “EO”, but unfortunate this is reality.

Everything is filmed from the donkey’s point of view. His perception of the human world is that of animal innocence. Director Jerzy Skolimowksi turns it into a fascinating trip in which he experiments with color and perspective. These are visual finds that stich with you. It’s such a beautifully moving story in which humanity is not portrayed too well. In conclusion: most people suck.

I believe this to be a very important movie, I know exactly which people really need to see this. But unfortunately they probably never will, and when they do, they don’t realize what the actual message of the film is. Because most people are ignorant and would say: “this is just a movie”. Well my friend, unfortunately, “EO” shows reality. It left a lasting impression on me.
