Review: “Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid” is the sequel nobody asked for, to the 1997 film “Anaconda”. That film was already not that great, but at least it had some familiar faces in its cast. And it was somewhat entertaining. “Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid” has none of that.
The film has all the typical things a teenage slasher film would have, but for once not in a desolate cabin in the woods. This time deep in the jungles of Borneo, Indonesia. Home to not only giant snakes, but also rare orchids. These so-called blood orchids bring eternal youth and are also the food of the snakes who never die from eating them and keep growing in size. A group of scientist, or what must pass for them, decide to do something about their insignificant youthful existence, namely to look for a flower that will make them… young. Hopeless.
Apparently this film had a pretty solid budget, but there is no proof of that. The CGI is crappy, the acting is terrible and the dialogues are cringeworthy.
It’s a terrible film, that’s a sequel to an already not that great  monster movie. Skip it if you can.
