In “The Yellow Wallpaper”, author Charlotte Perkins Gilman denounces women’s lack of control of their own lives and its impact on their mental and physical well-being, in 19^th century American society. 
It’s a short story and a lot is told in less then 70 pages. A captivating, touching, haunting and atmospheric read.
